Watch Shawn Mendes’ romantic ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ video

Shawn Mendes’ latest music video might leave a few fans swooning. The pop singer released the video for his current single "There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back" on Wednesday, and it’s a romantic adventure that you can watch now by using the media player included with this article.

In the video, which already has more than five million views in less than 24 hours on YouTube, Mendes wins over British actress Ellie Bamber, whom audiences will recognize from her turn as Lydia Bennet in the Jane Austen meets the undead film "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." The two are seen on a train together, sharing a boat, and visiting various landmarks in what feels like the spiritual successor to "Chasing Liberty." As Mendes and Bamber’s adventure unfolds, music fans also see footage of him performing live while his new love interest looks on adoringly.

The video is as romantic as it gets, and will likely drum up plenty of interest in Mendes’ current single. It’s also a welcome change of pace from how things didn’t work out so well for him in his previous videos for "Treat You Better" and "Mercy." This one has a happy ending to a story many fans probably wouldn’t mind experiencing themselves. Who wouldn’t want to frolic around Paris (the self-proclaimed "City of Love") with someone special?

"There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back" is from the deluxe edition of Mendes’ album Illuminate, which is available on iTunes. He also recently performed it on NBC’s "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

But for their own special moment, fans can hear the song live by going to one of the many concerts on Mendes’ current Illuminate World Tour, with tickets currently on sale through AXS. Below are Shawn Mendes’ upcoming tour dates:
